SAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Report – Oct. 14, 2024

CANTON, Ga.  – Three Southern Athletic Association teams were in action last week. Hendrix picked up a big win over Austin, 159-90 while Millsaps fell to Montevallo. Centre had a split squad weekend, beating Midway and falling to Washington & Lee.  
 
Around the SAA:  
Athletes of the Week:
SWIMMER: Ben Anderson | Millsaps | Junior | Estes Park, Colo.  - had a strong meet against NCAA Division II Montevallo at GRIT Training in Flowood, Miss. on Saturday. He won the 50-yard freestyle (21.68 seconds), was second in the 100-yard freestyle (47.92 seconds) and third in the 50-yard butterfly (25.65 seconds).
 
DIVER: Avery Balch | Centre | Senior | Hartselle, Ala. - won both boards on Sunday posting NCAA regional qualifying scores of 327.37 on the one-meter board and 326.10 on the three-meter dive. He has won all four diving events he has entered so far this season.
 
Notable Performance:
  • Brady Miller (Centre) - fresh off setting the Centre record last weekend, set the pool record in the 1000 freestyle at Washington and Lee (9:50.12) and then turned around and got second in the 500 (4:44.43). Miller is a true freshman who is just two meets into his college career.
