Atlanta, Ga. – Five SAA softball teams were able to dodge inclement weather throughout the conference and got their seasons underway. Millsaps led the way, going 2-0 in a weekend sweep of Centenary.

Athlete of the Week:
PLAYER: Alli Nolen | Millsaps | Junior | Baker, La. – was perfect at the plate over two weekend victories for the Majors, going 5-for-5 with four runs scores. The junior tallied a 2.400 OPS with a 1.000 on-base percentage and 1.400 slugging average. She notched a triple, walk and sac bunt in the series.
PITCHER: Allana Vasquez | Millsaps | First Year | Udine, Italy – made an instant impact in her collegiate debut, throwing a complete game and earning a 6-1 over Centenary. She scattered six hits and struck out four without allowing a walk and just one run.
Notable Performances:
- Kaylee Gregory (Centre) - shined in the second game of a doubleheader with Maryville as she tallied four RBI, three hits, and scored one run. The senior also stole two bases and had a batting average of .429. Gregory also tallied a perfect fielding percentage.
- Madison Granberry (Rhodes) - solid defensively with no errors after being put in left field for the first time in her career while also playing first base for two games. The senior hit 5-for-13 with a double and four runs scored on the weekend.
- Ashlynn Fowler (Hendrix) - put together two solid performances in the box for the Warriors, going 5-for-7 across two games versus Austin College with 3 runs scored. The sophomore was 3-for-4 from the plate in Game 1 with 2 runs and 1 XBH, and was 2-for-3 with a 2 run shot in Game 2.
- Andrea Searcy (Centre) – pitched 6.1 innings for the Colonels and recorded five strikeouts.
- Emily Peruit (Rhodes) – threw a total of four innings across multiple games and came away from the weekend with a 1.75 ERA.
