CANTON, Ga. – In a preview for the upcoming SAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Colonels and Vikings faced off as part of the Centre Indoor Showcase at Champions Hall over the weekend. The Berry women won four events and took first place in the team standings while the Centre women finished third.

Track Athlete of the Week:
Macy Murdock | Berry | Junior | Carnesville, Ga. - scored 20 of the team's 108 points with strong finishes. Her first place in the 400m (1:00.86), third in the long jump with a school record(5.36m), and then a lifetime PR in the 60m Hurdles placing 4th overall (9.39), pushed her team tremendously in the right direction. She now leads the SAA with her times in the 400m and 60H.
Field Athlete of the Week:
Zoey Shahid-Scott | Centre | First Year | Louisville, Ky. - had a great day of throws at the Centre Indoor Showcase on Saturday. The first-year thrower had the best throw of the day by a Division III competitor in the shot put, posting a mark of 37-11.25 to take third place. She later finished fourth in the weight throw as she had a personal best mark of 43-1.75 to finish in fourth place in that event.
Notable Performances:
- Kris Williams (Berry) The women's field events captured 75 points for the Vikings, 48 coming from jumps with Kris Williams leading the way in her new school record and first place finish in the high jump at 1.61m at the Centre Showcase.
- Madjo Doumbia (Centre) had another huge day on the track for the Centre women at the Centre Indoor Showcase this past Saturday, winning both races in which she competed. She began the day by setting a new school record in the 300m as she posted a time of 40.22 for the win, adjusted to 39.63 for the program record. Later in the meet, Doumbia raced in the 200m and picked up another victory, finishing in 25.14.
