CANTON, Ga.  – Natalie Catapano brings in her second athlete of the week honor of the year and Dounia Bezzari captures her first.

Golfweek October Classic


Co-Athletes of the Week:
Natalie Catapano | Sewanee | FR | Pacific Palisades, CA – Catapano continued her impressive fall campaign, shooting a school-record five-under 67 in the second round and tying for fifth individually in the 24-team event at the Golfweek Fall Classic. The freshman posted five birdies and no bogeys in her round of 67 and helped the Tigers set another school-record with a 292 team score, the lowest single round total in program history. Catapano held the overall lead heading into the final round before placing fifth. She tied the school single-round record of 68 in her previous tournament at the Montgomery Intercollegiate. She currently has a scoring average of 73.3 over seven rounds this fall.

Dounia Bezzari | Oglethorpe | FR | Vero Beach, FL – Bezzari led the team to eighth place with a fifth-place finish of her own. She was only six strokes off the Oglethorpe record for 54 holes, and her three rounds of 74-71-74 marked her three best rounds of the season so far. Bezzari finished fourth in par 5 scoring at 4 under par and seventh in par 4 scoring at 5 over par. She also ranked second for birdies with 11.


Notable Performances:

• Anna Apisarnthanarax | Southwestern | FR | Houston, TX – Freshman Anna Apisarnthanarax turned in a strong performance at the Golfweek October Classic, posting rounds of 77, 76, and 79 for a 232 total (+16) to finish 35th out of 120 players. Her second-round 76 marked her tournament low, highlighted by consistent play that included 31 pars and 7 birdies. Apisarnthanarax’s steady showing led the Pirates’ lineup, helping the team secure a 15th-place finish out of 24 teams.
• Jessica Mason | Trinity | SR | Westminster, CO – Mason led Trinity University's women's golf team to a tie for eight place at the Golfweek October Classic this week. Mason led the Tigers with a three-round score of 224 (74-72-78) that landed her in a tie for 13th individually.
