Athlete of the Week:
Jessica Mason | Trinity | SR | Westminster, CO– Mason led #18 Trinity to a first-place finish at the GreyStone Classic this week, as well as taking the top spot individually after shooting even-par 144 (70-74) over the two-day event. Mason finished with a team-best nine birdies over the two rounds of play, carding four on her final nine holes to shoot a minus-four 32 on the front to secure a two-under 70 in the opening round.
Notable Performances:
- Janie Morgan | Centre | SR | Louisville, KY – Janie Morgan opened with an 89 (+17) in Round 1, where several big numbers—especially on par 5s and the closing hole—made it difficult to build momentum despite some solid holes. She responded with a strong bounce-back in Round 2, shooting 76 (+4) by eliminating major mistakes, playing a steady front nine, and posting an even-par back nine that showed much better control. In Round 3, she continued that consistency with a 75 (+3), her most complete round, featuring a solid +2 front nine and a steady back nine with minimal errors. Overall, the progression highlights a clear improvement in consistency and course management, turning a high-scoring opening round into back-to-back mid-70s performances.
- Abigail Cerwick | Millsaps | SO | Helena, AL – Millsaps women's golf sophomore Abigail Cerwick carded her lowest two-round score of the season at plus-18, and lowest individual round of her collegiate career at plus-6, competing at the Goliath Compression Invitational in Frankston, Texas. She finished just nine strokes back of the leader, and six back of second place on the challenging course. Cerwick placed 13th with rounds of 78 and 84 at the Pine Dunes Resort & Golf Club.
- Natalie Catapano | Sewanee | FR | Pacific Palisades, CA – Catapano carded an opening-round three-under 69 and finished second overall at the SAA Preview. She registered four birdies with one bogey in the first round and added three more birdies in the second round, playing the final 12 holes in one-over after a slow start. She posted 20 pars over the two rounds for her sixth Top 15 finish in seven events this academic year and her fourth Top 5 finish.
