DANVILLE, Ky. (March 1, 2025) – Centre won four individual golds and a relay while totaling 20 medals to capture the 2025 SAA Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship.
Berry sprinter Jahari Jones was the meet’s High Point scorer, winning gold in the 60m dash (6.87), 200m dash (21.87), and 400m dash (49.19). All three times were meet records. Centre leader Lisa Owens was voted the Coach of the Year.
The Colonels totaled 265 points during the two-day event. Berry was runner-up with 150 points while Oglethorpe took third (87).
Cree Ross was a double-winner for the Colonels, going 7.04m in the long jump and setting a conference record with 14.29m in the triple jump. He was also runner-up in the 60m dash (7.01m).
Michael Smith won the high jump (1.97m) for Centre while All-American Logan Isaacs went back-to-back in the pole vault, clearing 4.97m. Both marks set new conference records.
Berry was strong in the throwing events, winning both in record fashion. Dawson Livingston won the weight throw in 17.28m while Mason Robinson took the shot put with a toss of 15.25m.
On the track, Oglethorpe’s Zachary Benner won the 5k in a record time of 15:17.90 while Ashton Deriso was first in the mile (4:21.80) and 800m run (1:57.87). All three times set new meet records. Stormy Petrels highlighted their strong showing with a win the Distance Medley Relay on Friday night.
Rhodes standout Hugh Stokes won the 60m hurdles in a record time of 8.33 seconds while Berry’s Tucker Wright won gold in the 3k, stopping the clock at 8:38.08.
