CANTON, Ga. – The SAA women’s tennis season is heating up heading into the second month of the season. Sewanee hosted the ITA Indoor Nationals in Memphis, matching up with three of the top-six ranked teams in the nation. Rhodes boasts the best record at 5-2 while Berry and Centre are both 4-1 on the young season.

SINGLES
Lauren Masteller | Berry | Senior | Mt. Lebanon, Pa. - played the No. 1 singles position against NAIA Cumberlands and posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory over the top singles player for the Phoenix.
DOUBLES:
Ivy Wilson | Sewanee | Sophomore | Tulsa, Okla.
Emma Caldwell | Sewanee | Senior | Wilton, Conn.
At the ITA Indoor Nationals, Ivy Wilson and Emma Caldwell defeated Lauren Khou/ Shianna Guo 7-5 of #1 ranked Chicago. They are currently 5-3 for the year.
Notable Performances:
- Carrie Foster (Centre) - won her third-straight solo bout with a tight 7-5, 7-5 win over Sofia Rueda of Midway. That win clinched the match for Centre. The Colonels have won three-straight matches.
- Maddie Nolan (Oglethorpe) - picked up a win in straight sets in the only match of the week, defeating LaGrange's Reese Moat 6-0, 6-2. Playing at the top singles spot, Nolan helped Oglethorpe win decisively 7-0 for the Petrels' first victory of the year. She also combined with doubles partner Taylor Glover for a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles.
- Gracie Rask (Rhodes) - went 2-0 over the weekend with wins over Letourneau and Univ. of Ozarks. This makes it 5 straight singles wins for Gracie at the number 1 position.
- Mariella Congenni (Sewanee) - defeated Leila Epstein of #4 ranked Wesleyan 4-6,7-5,10-8 and was serving at 6-3,5-4 match point against #6 ranked Washington University Nina Moravek when the match was called. She is currently 5-3 for the year.
- Sara Mejia/Lauren Masteller (Berry) - defeated NAIA division II Cumberland University in the one spot at 7-5.
- Grace Williams/Carlie Mitchell (Centre) - kept the winning going with a 6-0 win in the second-ranked match versus Cevada and Rueda of Midway. The Gold & White pair are now 3-0 on the season, which is the best mark for any Centre doubles team this season. The Colonels have won three-straight matches.
- Gracie Rask/Emma McHale (Rhodes) - went 2-0 on the weekend at the number 1 doubles position with victories over Letourneau and Univ. of Ozarks.
