Rhodes Grabs Lead at SAA Women’s Golf Championship

DICKSON, Tenn. (April 26, 2025) – Rhodes posted the best score of Saturday’s second round and moved into first place heading into the final day of the 2025 SAA Women’s Golf Championship.
 
The Lynx posted an 11-over 299 to jump Centre and grab a four-shot lead. The Colonels posted a 19-over 307 on Saturday and are 24-over for the tournament. Sewanee (+54) remains in third while Oglethorpe (+61) is fourth and Berry (+92) fifth.
 
Rhodes owns the top two spots on the individual leaderboard after a day that saw big moves up and down. Grace Young leapt four spots and took over sole possession of first place at even par for the tournament. She carded a two-under 70 Saturday. Teammate Emily Mu had the best score of the day with a three-under 69 and is second at one-over for the event. Sydney Bowes of Berry (+2) is third, Grace Walker of Centre (+3) is fourth, and Annie Piggott of Millsaps (+4) rounds out the top five.
 
Teams will play one final round Sunday, April 27 at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee.

DICKSON, Tenn. (April 25, 2025) – Battling through two weather delays and tough scoring conditions, Centre opened a four-stroke lead over Rhodes after the first round of the 2025 SAA Women’s Golf Championship.
 
The Colonels turned in a five-over round of 293 at Greyston Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee. Rhodes nine-over 297 has the Lynx in second while Sewanee (+25) is third.
 
Janie Morgan of Centre and Ava Bankston of Rhodes lead the way, tied atop the leaderboard at three-under (69). Morgan started out on fire, hitting the turn at four-under after birdies on five of the first nine holes. She added two more birdies on the back. Bankston was even halfway through the round and finished strong with four birdies and one bogey on the back-nine.
 
Grace Walker of Centre was posted an even par 72 to sit third while teammate Anika Rana is fourth at one-over. Rhodes Grace Young is fifth after a two-over 74.
 
The second round of the tournament’s three rounds is set for 7:30am CT at Greystone. Fans can follow the action live on Championship Central.
