CANTON, Ga. – A quartet women’s golf teams were in actinon last week over three events. Centre and Rhodes played in the Wittenberg hosted Win Palmer Cup while Millsaps hosted a dual with Mississippi University for Women. Sewanee was in Atlanta for the Deb Jackson Invitational.
The 2025 SAA Men’s and Women’s Golf Championship is slated for April 25-27 at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee.

Athletes of the Week:
Ava Bankston | Rhodes | Sophomore | Franklin, Tenn. – captured medalist honors at the Win Palmer Cup in Sewickley, Pa. The sophomore turned in scores of 75 and 73 (+8) to win by four strokes over a trio tied for second. Bankston is currently ranked No. 28 in the nation.
Notable Performances:
- Sabrina Nesbitt (Sewanee) - carded rounds of 79 (+8) and 78 (+7) at the Deb Jackson Invitational at the West Pines Golf Course. On day one, Nesbitt shot three-over on the front nine with six pars and three bogeys. The Newport Beach, Calif., native added six more pars on the back with two bogeys, including a bogey on the par-4 18th hole, for an eight-over 79, tied for 27th. On day two, she started her round at No. 14 and made two bogeys and three pars before making the turn. The senior birdied holes one and seven and recorded two bogeys and one double bogey on the front nine. She added a bogey at No. 11 and a double on her final hole of the day at No. 13 for a 78 and a two-day total of 157, 28th individually.
