SAA Women’s Golf Report – April 10, 2025

CANTON, Ga.  – Two SAA teams were in action last week with Berry playing in the Greenbrier Invitational and Oglethorpe hosting the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate. The Vikings were third at the event, hosted by Southern Virginia at the historic West Virginia resort. The Stormy Petrels finished third at its event, hosted at Paradise Point GC inside Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.
 
The 2025 SAA Men’s and Women’s Golf Championship is slated for April 25-27 at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee.

Athletes of the Week:
Elizabeth Powell | Oglethorpe | Junior | Roswell, Ga. - helped the Stormy Petrels set two program records in an all-tournament team performance at this week's Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate. With improved scores each day of 75-72-71 (218), Powell took third on the individual leaderboard, helping Oglethorpe take its highest finish of the season at fourth as a team. Powell's day-two and day-three scores helped Oglethorpe break the 54- and 36-hole team scoring records, held since 2022, and the Petrels were one stroke off the 18-hole record with their 294 on Sunday. Powell led the field with 39 pars, and she also ranked top 10 in par 3, par 4 and par 5 scoring. She was 1 under on the par 4's. 
 
Notable Performances:
  • Sydney Bowes (Berry) - once again led the Vikings this weekend, finishing 9th individually and helping the team to a third place finish overall. In round one she posted a 79 (+7) and then on day two she had an 83 (+11). She had one eagle and one birdie in the tournament.
