Rhodes Lax Advances to Round Two with Dominant Victory Over Transylvania

In a thrilling first-round NCAA matchup at Crain Field, the Rhodes Lynx showcased their resilience and firepower, defeating the Transylvania University Pioneers 18-13 to secure a spot in the next round. With a passionate home crowd cheering them on, Rhodes overcame an early deficit and displayed why they're a force to be reckoned with this postseason.

The game began with Transylvania firing on all cylinders, racing to a 6-3 lead by the end of the first quarter. However, Rhodes responded with a dominating second quarter, led by sophomore Gavin Nagle, who delivered a career high 7 goals throughout the game. His precision shooting, combined with the relentless play making of John Mori (4 goals, 2 assists), turned the tide in favor of the Lynx.

By the second half, the Lynx found their rhythm, with additional standout performances from Drew Downes and Drew Litner, who each contributed key goals and assists. Rhodes' defense tightened as well, stifling Transylvania's attack and maintaining their lead. The Lynx pulled away in the fourth quarter, sealing the victory with commanding plays from Martin Maxim and Wyatt Bounds.

With the win, Rhodes advances to round two, where they will face a great challenge against the undefeated Tufts University Jumbos. The stage is set for an epic battle as the Lynx look to prove themselves on the national stage.
