Athletes of the Week: 
Offense: 
Keaten Cox | Southwestern | SO | Allen, TX – Cox had a memorable weekend, scoring the game-winning goal against University of Dubuque on Friday with only two seconds left to win 13-12. The sophomore wrapped around the goal to score his second goal of the night. Cox followed up the performance with three goals on Sunday, along with two assists on a .429 shot percentage on the day with two ground balls.

Defense: 
Dante Avicolli | Southwestern | SO | Orinda, CA – Avicolli held down the fort in goal, leading the Pirates to a 2-0 weekend at University of Dubuque and Illinois Wesleyan University. Avicolli earned the win on Friday with six saves and three ground balls. However, Sunday's performance was the highlight of the weekend with a career-high 22 saves, nearly breaking the school record. The sophomore was the complete difference in snapping Illinois Wesleyan's 28-game home winning streak, also adding ten grounds balls. He had an incredible .647 save percentage. 


Notable Performances: 
Offense

  • Owen Morini | Berry | JR | Tarpon Spring, FL – Owen scored four goals and dished out two assists to carry the Vikings to a 14-9 victory over the Vikings. Owen scored two huge goals in the fourth quarter to keep Huntingdon out of the picture in the 14-9 win.
  • Charles Moran | Sewanee | SR | Dallas, TX – Charles Moran produced seven points on the weekend with four goals and three assists, highlighted by a five-point outing against No. 7-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, scoring four goals on five shots (.800).
Defense
  • Griffin Smiles | Berry | FR – Seven ground balls and three caused turnovers for the freshman, including a ground ball that led to a crucial Berry goal to bring them within one in the second quarter.
  • Flynn Bowman | Sewanee | SR | Chestertown, MD – Flynn Bowman turned in a standout performance against No. 7-ranked RPI, posting a career-high 16 saves, adding a goal and four ground balls, and helping lead Sewanee to a 24-of-26 clearing performance. His goal tied the game at 6-6 with 7:39 remaining in the third quarter of a one-goal loss. Bowman followed with nine saves and a ground ball in Sewanee’s win over Albion College on Sunday.
