CANTON, Ga.  – Nischwitz captures his second athlete of the week honor while Houtz of Southwestern brings in his first after opening conference play.

Athletes of the Week: 
Offense: 
Matthew Houtz | Southwestern | SR | Georgetown, TX – Houtz had a career-high seven goals in a slim losing effort to Wooster last Tuesday in a massive effort nearly breaking the record. Houtz finished with nine goals and one assist on the week.

Defense: 
Asa Nischwitz | Sewanee | JR | Germantown, TN – Asa Nischwitz was 35-of-44 (79.5%) from the faceoff circle in three games this week. He added 22 ground balls and went a perfect 7-of-7 in Sewanee’s conference matchup against Hendrix on Sunday. 


Notable Performances: 
Offense

  • Grayson Jolly | Centre | JR | Broomfield, CO – Grayson Jolly controlled the field with 8 ground balls while adding 2 goals in a strong two-way performance.
  • Gavin Nagle | Rhodes | JR | Duxbury, MA – Gavin Nagle led the Rhodes offense in a conference win over Berry, finishing with four goals and one assist on 11 shots (5 points total) while helping the Lynx pull away in the second half. After a quiet first half, Nagle erupted out of halftime with multiple goals, consistently drawing defensive attention and creating opportunities for others. 
  • Manoli Loupassi | Sewanee | JR | Richmond, VA – Manoli Loupassi collected eight points this weekend, including four against Scranton and three against Nazareth in mid-week non-conference matchups for the Tigers. He added eight ground balls and a caused turnover in three games. 
Defense
  • Hayden Burns | Centre | SR | Roanoke, VA – Hayden Burns anchored the defense with 11 saves, coming up big in goal.
  • Lucas Pagliarulo | Rhodes | SR | Medfield, MA – Lucas Pagliarulo led a dominant Rhodes defensive effort in a conference win over Berry, totaling four caused turnovers, three ground balls, one goal, and one assist while anchoring a unit that forced 21 turnovers and held Berry to nine goals.
