CANTON, Ga. – Fresh off their 22nd SCAC championship, the Trinity Tigers have been tabbed as the preseason favorite to claim the 2025 Southern Athletic Association volleyball crown.
Trinity led the poll with 55 total points and six first-place votes, followed by eight-time SAA champion Berry with 47 points. Centre finished third with 43 points and two first-place nods, while Southwestern and Rhodes rounded out the top five.
Voting was conducted among the SAA’s eight head coaches.

Trinity closed the 2024 season ranked No. 16 nationally after advancing to the NCAA Regional at Emory. The Tigers went 14-1 in SCAC play and return SCAC Freshman of the Year Taylor Starr alongside all-region standout Kendall DeRivel.
Berry posted a 17-14 record last season against a challenging schedule. The Vikings went 9-3 in league play before capturing the SAA tournament title to advance to the NCAA Regional in Atlanta. While they graduate All-American Bella Boston, Berry returns SAA Tournament MVP Lura Underwood.
Centre claimed the 2024 regular-season title and, despite falling to Berry in the tournament, secured an NCAA berth thanks to a strong NPI ranking. The Colonels return SAA Newcomer of the Year Delia Long.
The 2025 SAA Volleyball Tournament is set to begin November 13 in Atlanta, hosted by Oglethorpe University.
