SAA Men's Golf Report - Sept. 17, 2025

CANTON, Ga.  – The Southern Athletic Associaiton named Hiller and Becker of Oglethorpe and Sewanee, respectively, as the Week Two Co-Athletes of the Week.

Co-Athletes of the Week:
Jackson Hiller | Oglethorpe | JR | Vero Beach, FL – Oglethorpe's Jackson Hiller earned co-medalist honors after sharing the individual lead through all 54 holes of the Gate City Invitational Monday and Tuesday in Greensboro, North Carolina. His 4 under par on round two helped the No. 6 Stormy Petrels scorch the course with a 15 under par, the best team score of any round for the tournament and one of the best team rounds in the history of the program. This marked the second win of his career. 

Elias Becker | Sewanee | SR | Mexico City, Mexico – Becker tied for first at the Gate City Invitational, shooting six-under par over the 54 holes and helping Sewanee to the team title by one stroke over Carnegie Mellon. He posted nine birdies and one eagle with four bogeys over the three rounds, including a bogey-free five-under 67 in the second round Monday (36-hole day). It marked the second tournament in which he placed first in his two-plus seasons at Sewanee after winning low medalist honors at the 2025 SAA Championships.

Notable Performances:
  • Landon Painter | Berry | SR | Dalton, GA – Painter finished tied for 15th out of 96 golfers at the Gate City Invitational. He shot a 217 over three rounds finishing one over par.
