CANTON, Ga. - The Trinity Tigers were selected as the 2026 preseason favorite for the Southern Athletic Association title.
Trinity captured five first place votes for 54 points while Centre had three first place votes totaling 51 points. Berry was voted third with 46 while Rhodes and Oglethorpe capped the top five with 37 and 30 points, respectively.
Voting was conducted among the SAA’s eight head coaches.

Trinity enters their first outdoor season with the SAA after a successful indoor season. Holding 11 seniors the team holds experience after winning a conferene title last season in the SCAC.
Centre holds last years trophy and three athletes who made NCAA appearances in Chloe Hein, Amari Robinson, and Serena McNeilly. Coming off their third straight SAA Outdoor Title, the Colonels look to the reigning SAA Coaching Staff of the Year in guidance to their fourth consecutive.
Berry was narrowly defeated last year at the championship as it waas the closest SAA meet in over seven years. Tallying 235 points the Vikings had strong performances across the board. Berry looks to their throws for support this year with Onoyeme Egure and Avery Jones leading the way.
The 2026 SAA Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship is slated for April 24-25 in Rome, Georgia, hosted by Berry College.
