Athletes of the Week:
Track:
Chloe Hein | Centre | JR | Alexandria, KY - At the Emory Spring Break Classic this weekend, Chloe Hein raced in the 100m and posted a time of 11.79. This time was 0.01 seconds shy of her personal best time ever in the race, but it is still good enough to put her at the top of both the SAA and NCAA Division III Performance Lists through the first two weeks of the outdoor track season.

Field:
Zoey Shadid-Scott | Centre | SO | Louisville, KY - Zoey Shahid-Scott broke one of the oldest records in the Centre women's track record book this past weekend at the Emory Spring Break Classic in Atlanta. Shahid-Scott threw 13.59m (44-7) in the shot put to break the program record that Kelly Davis had held since 1997. That was good enough to get the win in the event and she currently ranks second on the SAA performance list and fourth in the nation. Shahid-Scott also posted a personal best mark in the discus, finishing with a throw of 39.40m (129-3), good for the top spot on the SAA Performance List and 17th in all of NCAA Division III. She wrapped up her meet by posting a mark of 37-19 (122-0) in the hammer.

Track:
  • Fiona Selders | Millsaps | JR | Zachary, LA - Millsaps women's track and field junior Fiona Selders had an excellent meet at the Rhodes Invitational on Saturday. She won the 100 meters in 12.40 seconds, becoming the second-fastest runner in program history. Selders also placed runner-up in the 200 meters with a time of 25.56, improving on her time as the third-fastest in that event for the Majors. Across NCAA Division III, she currently ranks 13th in the 200 as well as 20th in the 100.
  • 4x800 Relay Team | Oglethorpe - Oglethorpe 4x800 meter relay of Kirsten Rose, Alyssa Hearn, Mari Colon and Hannah Rhodes crushed the Stormy Petrel record of 10:29 by over 30 seconds, running 9:57.43 for a third-place finish at this past weekend's Emory Spring Break Classic.
  • Tatum Duncan | Rhodes | FR | New Orleans, LA - Tatum Duncan turned in a standout performance on the track, posting elite times in both sprint events. The freshman clocked a 59.66 in the 400m dash and a 24.86 in the 200m dash, showcasing her versatility and speed. Duncan’s 200m mark was particularly impressive, as she finished ahead of competitors from NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA Division I programs, highlighting her ability to compete at a national level. Her performance not only led Rhodes on the track but also established her as one of the top young sprinters across all divisions.
  • Arianna Shirak | Sewanee | SO | Raleigh, NC - Shirak posted a pair of times that rank second all-time in Sewanee history. The sophomore ran 26.31 in the 200-meters on Friday at the Lee University Invitational and registered a time of 12.76 in the 100-meters on Saturday.
  • 4x100 Relay Team | Trinity - The Tiger 4x100-meter relay team of Scott, Daredia, Gaylord, and Lanik set a new school record with a time of 46.78 to win the event at the Texas Lutheran University Invitational on Saturday. The time is also the third-fastest in Division III so far this season.
