DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre and Trinity Women are tied for first after a record setting day at the 2026 SAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The day began with three field events, the long jump, high jump, and weight throw that all captured new Southern Athletic Association Meet Records.
Standout junior, Chloe Hein kicked things off in champion fashion as she broke the NCAA Division III record in the long jump with her mark of 6.46m. Every meet this season she has continued to break her own record to build up to the ultimate goal of the NCAA record. Annabelle Lanik of Trinity took second in the event (5.89m) while Serena McNeilly claimed third (5.81m).
McNeilly captured even more points for the Colonels as she headed over to the high jump. With a mark of 1.78m, she captured gold and the SAA record as the defending champion. Sophia Ortiz of Trinity and Kris Williams of Berry took second and third, respectively.
Berry went one and two in the weight throw with Onoyeme Egure leading the way at 16.68m, another new SAA record, and teammate Malysha Winston took the second spot. Coming in at third was sophomore Abbey Cox, earning the Scots first-ever SAA hardware.
The running events began with the 5,000 meter where Trinity claimed the top two spots backed by senior Gianna Keena's performance of 17:48.03 (an SAA record) followed by her teammate Anne Snider.
Following the prelims for the 400m, 60m, 60m hurdle, and 200m the day ended with the distance medley relay final where Trinity captured the final top points with the quad of Josette Gurule Ciara Catton Halle Hamilton Emerson Voldan breaking the SAA record at 12:16.30.
