SAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Report - Feb. 10, 2026

CANTON, Ga.  – Greer Hernandez of Millsaps and Bocar Diagana of Trinity take week five athlete of the week honors for Indoor Track and Field.

Track:
Greer Hernandez | Millsaps | JR | Broussard, LA - Millsaps men's track and field junior distance runner Greer Hernandez ran swiftly at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational on Friday. He became the second-fastest runner in program history in both the mile and 3,000 meters. He placed 17th in the mile (4:36.23) and 20th at 3K (9:07.81).

Field:
Bocar Diagana | Trinity | SR | Edina, MN - Diagana is beginning to treat the men's triple jump school record like Mondo Duplantis treats the men's pole vault world record. He has now broken the school record in all three meets so far this season, doing so this time with a second-place finish in 14.69m. With the mark, he moves up to join a three-way tie for ninth in the NCAA and looks like even more of a shoo-in for nationals in March.
 
Notable Performances
Track:
  • Ethan Smith | Berry | SR | Dawsonville, GA - Smith was a member of the team’s 4x400 relay that took a time of 3:31.57, to be second in the SAA this season while also setting a new school record in the 600m with a 10th place finish at 1:24.77.
  • Elijah Bliss | Trinity | FR | Garden Ridge, TX - Bliss took fifth in the men's 5,000-meter in 15:24.94. His time puts him fourth in program history and makes him the fastest freshman in indoor school history by over 45 seconds. After one of the best fall seasons ever by a Tiger freshman, Bliss is finding his natural place towards the top of the school's long distance rankings.
  • Parker Tallman | Sewanee | SO | Woodberry Forest, VA - Parker Tallman won the 800m at the Middle Tennessee State University Dean Hayes Indoor Classic on Saturday afternoon, against Division I, II, and NAIA opponents. He ran a 1:58.86, setting his personal best and now ranks second all-time in Sewanee program history.
Field:
  • Andrew Popp | Berry | FR | Buford, GA - Popp jumped to a lifetime PR in the Pole Vault at the UAB Invitational, clearing 4.35m.  The height is the top mark in the SAA so far this season.
  • Nathan Jimmie | Southwestern | SO | Cedar Park, TX - Jimmie surpassed his own school record in the weight throw event which he broke last weekend. Jimmie launched a career-best mark of 13.23m, beating his previous record by a wide margin which was 12.02m. The sophomore continues improve meet to meet by sizeable margins.
