MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College men's tennis team earned a 4–1 victory over No. 5 Berry College Friday morning at Leftwich Tennis Center.
Rhodes took control early by securing the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3. Oliver Bonovich and Nicholas Miloi rolled to a 6-1 victory at the top spot, while Owen Fellrath and Topher Thornberry dominated 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, the Lynx won three key matches to clinch the team victory.
Bonovich battled back after dropping the first set to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Christian Mainella followed with a three-set comeback of his own at No. 2, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Berry picked up its lone point at No. 4 singles, while Thornberry and Paul Fridman won their singles matches for the Lynx.
With the win, Rhodes builds momentum heading into the semifinals against No. 1 Sewanee tomorrow morning at 9:00AM.
