Men's Tennis 4/25/2026 1:35:00 PM Sewanee Athletic Communications Tigers blank Rhodes in SAA Semifinals MEMPHIS – Henry Hyden clinched the match for Sewanee as the men's tennis team defeated Rhodes 4-0 in the semifinals of the SAA Championships in Memphis, Tenn., at the Leftwich Tennis Center on Saturday morning. Sewanee got started in doubles as Andre-Remi Jakobi and Samuel Schroerlucke secured a 6-4 win at one, and Lucas Wrigley and Max Verellen clinched the doubles point for the Tigers with a 6-4 result at three. At two, Ben Lammert and Drew Rukavina were up 5-3 when the doubles point was clinched, and the match was abandoned. In singles, Schroerlucke rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win at four, in just 49 minutes. Verellen followed with a 6-1, 6-2 result at five to get Sewanee within one point of playing in the SAA Championships. Henry Hyden secured the semifinal win for the Tigers with a 6-3, 6-3 decision at two. The Tigers had won the first set in the rest of the matches when the match was clinched. Sewanee will face Trinity in the finals of the SAA Championships on Sunday at 9 a.m.
