LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Berry’s JJ Sweat earned the final Division III Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honor of the 2026 season, the Association announced on Tuesday.

Freshman right-hander Sweat tossed two shutouts to help propel Berry to its fifth straight Southern Athletic Association (SAA) tournament title over the weekend. The Dallas, Ga., native threw a three-hitter in the Vikings’ 3-0 championship-clinching victory over top seed Trinity on Sunday to secure SAA tournament Most Valuable Player honors. That followed Friday’s two-hitter and nine strikeouts in Berry’s 1-0 triumph over Southwestern.
