Offensive:
Mushaba Zulu | Maryville | SO | Birmingham, AL – Mushaba Zulu powered Maryville to a 27-21 overtime victory at Centre, rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Zulu opened the scoring for the Scots with a 54-yard touchdown run in the first quarter before providing the game-winning score in overtime on a 25-yard touchdown run. His 148 rushing yards accounted for nearly three-quarters of Maryville's 201 rushing yards, while his 54-yard touchdown was the longest play from scrimmage for either team. Zulu also contributed two receptions for 24 yards, finishing the game with 172 all-purpose yards. His overtime touchdown capped a performance that helped Maryville improve to 2-0 in conference play.
Defensive:
TJ Scannell | Trinity | SR | San Antonio, TX – In a huge matchup between nationally-ranked teams to open SAA play, Scannell produced one of the best games of his career to lead #9/10 Trinity to a 23-6 win over #11/16 Berry on Saturday. Scannell finished with a game-best 14 tackles that was just one shy of his career high, including 9 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He also had two forced fumbles, a pass breakup, and a QB hurry.
Special Teams:
Judson Crockett | Trinity | JR | Austin, TX – Crockett came up big once again in a matchup between nationally-ranked teams on Saturday, as #9/10 Trinity defeated #11/16 Berry in the opening game of the SAA schedule for both schools. Crockett blocked two punts in the game to help the Tigers control field position, with the second block leading to a field goal that put Trinity ahead 16-6 midway through the third quarter. This is the second time this season that Crockett has had two punt blocks in a game and he has blocked five punts in four games this year.

Offense
- Derrick Tasby Jr. | Millsaps | SO | Fort Worth, TX – Millsaps football sophomore wide receiver Derrick Tasby Jr. totaled four touchdowns, including three receiving scores to power the Majors past Rhodes, 54-10 on Saturday. Tasby Jr. tied the single-game program record with three receiving touchdowns, hauling in four targets for 108 yards. He added a 5-yard rushing score for good measure.
- Jaxon Sims | Southwestern | JR | Kingwood, TX – Sims played a nearly perfect game in the 42-21 win over Sewanee in the conference opener on Saturday. Sims threw 19 times with 16 completions on his first career 300 yard passing day. The junior accounted for four passing touchdowns for another career high. Sims has tossed 10 touchdowns for the season, tying a career high as he was dialed in, averaging 19 yards per completion. Sims helped the Pirates out score the Tigers 28-7 in the second half in crunch time.
Defense
- Myles Johnson | Millsaps | JR | Maurice, LA – Millsaps football junior defensive lineman Myles Johnson totaled five tackles, including 2.5 TFLs and 2.0 sacks along with a quarterback hurry, helping the Majors defeat Rhodes, 54-10 on Saturday.
- Gavin Prince | Southwestern | SO | Allen, TX – Prince was an unstoppable force in the Pirates opening SAA weekend on the 42-21 victory. Prince erupted for three sacks that amounted to 23 yards of loss. He also totaled five tackles despite the double teams. Prince also not only forced a key fumble, but recovered it to completely flip the field leading to an easy offensive touchdown. The sophomore has become a lethal threat with five sacks in the past two games.
Special Teams
- Brennon Sayler | Maryville | SR | Jasper, TN – Brennon Saylor provided a steady presence in the kicking game during Maryville's 27-21 overtime victory at Centre. Saylor punted five times for 178 yards, averaging 35.6 yards per punt with a long of 43 yards. He placed two punts inside the 20-yard line and recorded three fair catches, consistently helping the Scots flip field position against the Colonels. Saylor's punts included a 36-yard kick that pinned Centre at its own 11-yard line and a 39-yard punt that led to a return for a one-yard loss.
