CANTON, Ga. – Berry ran its winning streak to four and Centre won its third straight to keep the two teams as the lone unbeatens in Southern Athletic Association play. The Vikings got past Sewanee 35-18 while the Colonels beat Hendrix 35-18. Berry travels to Trinity this coming Saturday with the Tigers sitting at 2-1 after a 38-14 win at Rhodes. Millsaps also moved to 2-1 in the league after going on the road to down Southwestern 17-14 behind a 46-yard field goal in the final seconds.

OFFENSIVE:
Jack Gohmann | Centre | Junior | Lexington, Ky. – accounted for five total touchdowns and completed 69 percent of his passes, leading Centre to a 35-18 win over Hendrix. The junior completed 24-of-35, totaling 281 yards through the air. In the first quarter, he had touchdown throws of 32-yards and 31-yards and then ran in a 13-yard touchdown in the second to put the Colonels on top 21-0. In the third quarter, scoring strikes of 11-yards and 10-yards out put the game away and kept Centre atop the SAA.
DEFENSIVE:
Nehemiah Coalson | Millsaps | Junior | Belzoni, Miss. - played a pivotal role in helping the Majors down Southwestern University, 17-14 in Texas on Friday. He grabbed a fumble and scored from 19 yards out to give Millsaps a 12-7 lead in the beginning of the fourth quarter. Coalson added eight tackles, including three solo stops in the win.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
Connor Babin | Millsaps | First Year | Houma, La. - connected on a 46-yard field goal with two seconds remaining to help Millsaps seal a 17-14 victory at Southwestern on Saturday. Babin's field goal was the fourth longest in program history. He also excelled with kickoffs, totaling four for 242 yards (60.5-yard average).
Notable Performances:
- Christian Lewis (Berry) - went 20-28 throwing down the field for 323 yards and four touchdowns. His long against SAA opponent Sewanee was 51 yards. The junior now has the 2nd most passing yards a game in school history. He led the team to a huge 53-10 win.
- Ryan Back (Trinity) - racked up a career-high 296 yards and three touchdowns on 23-of-35 passing, marking the second straight week that he has set a new career mark through the air. He engineered a scoring drive late in the first half, throwing a 15-yard touchdown with less than a minute to go that gave the Tigers a 17-14 halftime lead. Back threw two more touchdowns in the second half, which included a 26-yard strike in the fourth quarter that put the game out of reach at 38-14.
- Jack Murray (Berry) - had a timely pick six against Sewanee. He returned the ball from the 35 for a quick touchdown and also recorded a solo tackle and pass breakup.
- Jamikel James (Centre) - had a career day for the Centre defense in Saturday's win against Hendrix. The senior defensive back set a career high and tied a game high with seven tackles in the win. He also picked up his first career interception as he picked off a pass in the end zone late in the fourth quarter to stop Hendrix's final drive of the game.
- Jonathan Nwobodo (Trinity) - led a Trinity defense that limited Rhodes to just 70 yards rushing and only 258 yards of offense in a 38-14 road win in SAA play on Saturday, cementing the victory by holding the Lynx scoreless in the second half.. Nwobodo recorded three sacks in the victory, becoming just the ninth Trinity player ever to record three or more sacks in a single game. After allowing nearly 100 yards and with Rhodes leading 7-0 after the first quarter of play, Nwobodo led a defense that shut down the home team over the final three quarters. The Tigers gave up just 164 yards over the final three quarters and held Rhodes scoreless in the second half to seal the win.
- Dreshawn Stevens (Berry) - blocked a Sewanee punt late in the second quarter and recovered the ball at the nine yard line. This set the team up for a touchdown to lead Sewanee 32-7 at the half.
- Will Boehm (Centre) - had his best day of punting in two years as a starter for Centre on Saturday. Against Hendrix, Boehm averaged 47 yards per punt, including a 60-yarder. He also pinned the Warriors inside their own 20 twice on a day where Centre dominated the field position game and won 35-18.
- Jason Love (Trinity) - piled up 82 yards on three kickoff returns - all in the first half - to lead Trinity to a 38-14 road win over Rhodes College on Saturday. Love broke free for a season-best 48-yard return in the first quarter.
