CANTON, Ga. – In the final tune-up before the Southern Athletic Association Championship in two weeks, all conference women’s cross country teams were in action over the weekend. Hendrix won the Arkansas Division III while Rhodes was runner-up and Millsaps 16
th at the Mississippi College Watson Collegiate. Sewanee finished fourth at the UT Chattanooga Home Meet. Centre traveled to Evansville, Indiana and finished eighth at the Angel Mound Invitational and Berry took 22
nd at the Augustana Inter-regional. Oglethorpe traveled the furthest, going from Atlanta to upstate New York for a 28
th place finish at the Mike Woods Invitational.

Elena Gentry | Rhodes | First Year | Des Moines, Iowa – in a loaded field with 178 runners, the first year finished in second place with a time of 22:43. Gentry was the top Division III finished and the only first year among the top-10. Her performance led the Lynx to a runner-up finish as a team at the 23-school meet.
Notable Performances:
- Anna Ayers (Berry) - led the charge for the Vikings in Illinois. Taking advantage of the fast course, Ayers is proudly took 33rd place finish and a new personal best of 22:13.6.
- Cara Taylor (Centre) - had another spectacular race this past weekend at the Angel Mounds Invitational held in Evansville, IN. Cara continued to impress touring the 6K course in 22:57 (the first time she has ever broken the 23 minute barrier and a 10 second personal best). Cara finished the race at Centre’s #2 girl helping the Centre women beat several NCAA Division I programs.
- Anna Cantrell (Hendrix) – smashed her own personal best by more than a minute, winning the Arkansas Division III Championship in a time of 18:18.
- Sarah Strickland (Millsaps) - posted a personal-best time at the Watson Collegiate Classic along the Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss. on Friday. She covered the 6K course in 24 minutes, 31.60 seconds to place 34th out of 178 finishers.
- Abigail Armstrong (Sewanee) - posted her personal best in the 6k, leading the Tigers with a top finish at the UTC Home Cross Country Meet on Friday. Armstrong clocked in at 24:42, earning 13th place for Sewanee.
