Trinity Defeats Rhodes for 2025 Tournament Championship Title

MEMPHIS - The Trinity Tigers and Rhodes Lynx hit the pitch today for the 2025 Southern Athletic Association Tournament where Trinity blanked Rhodes 3-0 to claim the title.

With weather conditions one of the coolest all season and very different from the last two days of the tournament, both teams hit the field ready to compete for the SAA title.

Trinity earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The full selection show will be Monday, November 10 at 11 a.m. ET here.

Bri Werner of the Tigers did not let the cold weather phase her this afternoon with a quick goal in the 13th minute of play. Going on the board early, it only took 16 more minutes before the Tigers found the back of the net again for a 2-0 lead before the half.

Behind puffy coats, the crowd was still in to the game heavily rooting for the Lynx and Tigers. Rhodes came out in the second half and held off Trinity while looking to notch their first goal, but Werner found the back of the net for the second time of the game to go up 3-0 and blank the Lynx.

Werner along with SAA Defensive Athlete of the Year, Ilsa Newland, earned All-tournament team accolades while Hanna Khan ended the tournament with three goals and an assist to capture the title of tournament MVP.
