Athlete of the Week:
Kylie Minter | Trinity | SR | League City, TX – Minter led Trinity's women's basketball team to its first two wins of the season last week, scoring a lopsided 111-57 win over Concordia (TX) before battling out a 78-70 win over Texas Lutheran. Minter began the week with 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting, while adding five rebounds, four assists, and three steals in just 19 minutes of action against the Tornados. She followed with a 15-point effort against the Bulldogs, adding two boards and five assists while shooting 3-for-7 from the field - including 2-for-4 from three-point range - and converting 7-of-8 at the foul line.
 
Notable Performances:
  • Elly Callihan | Berry | SR | Ellijay, GA –A senior forward Callihan had twelve points on 7-for-11 from the field in a dominant 69-45 win.
  • Lilly Reid | Centre | JR | Mount Washington, KY – Lilly Reid delivered a career-high performance in Saturday's game against Covenant. In the 27 minutes on the floor, she scored 28 points on highly efficient shooting, hitting 9 of 14 from the field, 1 of 2 threes, and knocking down 9 out of 10 free throws, setting a new career high in points scored in a game. Reid contributed to the glass with 4 rebounds (2 offensive, 2 defensive) and added playmaking with 4 assists. Defensively, she was a key factor, recording 5 steals, though she did not block any shots. She committed no fouls and had 3 turnovers. Overall, it was a very productive, efficient, and defensively active performance.
  • ?Tia Anderson | Millsaps | JR | Brusly, LA – Millsaps women's basketball forward Tia Anderson was dynamic helping the Majors secure an 85-81 road triumph in overtime at Belhaven on Tuesday. Anderson earned a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds along with a steal and an assist.
  • Keimarya Rivera | Oglethorpe | SR | Canton, GA – Oglethorpe's Keimarya Rivera, after a quiet game midweek against Berry, bounced back with a big game against No. 9 Emory over the weekend. She posted 19 points and seven rebounds in that second game, helping the Petrels nearly upset the top-10 Eagles.
  • Avery Marsh | Rhodes | SR | Little Rock, AR –Senior guard Avery Marsh was the steady force behind Rhodes’ 56–47 win over Hendrix, turning in a complete two-way performance that anchored the Lynx on both ends of the floor. Marsh finished with 12 points, 7 steals, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists, while logging all 40 minutes in a defensive battle that required composure and leadership. She was outstanding at the line, going 6-for-8, including a series of clutch free throws in the final minute to secure the victory. Marsh additionally controlled the tempo throughout the game, committing just three turnovers despite constant defensive pressure, and her seven steals set the tone for a Rhodes defense that forced 23 Hendrix turnovers.
  • Neela Castillo | Southwestern | FR | Kyle, TX – Freshman Neela Castillo delivered a standout two-way performance to help the Pirates close the weekend with a perfect 2–0 record. Castillo showcased remarkable poise and versatility, totaling 19 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, and five assists across the two-game stretch. Castillo shot 27.8% (5–18) from the field and 12.5% (1–8) from beyond the arc, but made a significant impact at the free-throw line, knocking down an impressive 90% (9–10). Whether creating pressure defensively, facilitating the offense, or controlling the glass, Castillo played a pivotal role in securing both victories for the Pirates.
