Sewanee and Berry to Battle for SAA Women’s Tennis Crown

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 26, 2025) – Top-seed Sewanee continued to sweep its way through the tournament draw while three-seed Berry earned an upset and date with the Tigers for the SAA Women’s Tennis Championship.
 
Sewanee is making an 11th appearance in the SAA finals, winning each time. Berry will play for the conference title for a fifth time, falling to the Tigers in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2024.
 
Sewanee got past four-seed Centre 4-0 on Saturday in the semifinals. They grabbed the doubles point early before scoring three quick wins during singles play. Sarah Livingston scored the clincher with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2.
 
Berry upset second-seed Rhodes 5-1 on Saturday afternoon to advance in the draw. After winning in doubles, the Vikings got singles wins at No. 3, No. 5, No. 2 and then the clincher Lauren Mastellar beating Gracie Rask 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1.
 
The conference title match is slated for 9am ET at Burns Park Tennis Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
