CANTON, Ga. (May 1, 2025) – The top-two seeds in the SAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship survived the semifinals and will meet Saturday as No. 1 Sewanee hosts No. 2 Rhodes in the 2025 title game at 12pm CT.
The Tigers are ranked No. 12 in the NCAA Division III NPI, sitting at a perfect 16-0 heading into the championship game. They beat a stingy Oglethorpe squad in the semifinals, 16-12 Sunday afternoon. Marlin Price tallied five goals to lead the Tigers.
Rhodes enters the game 11-6 on the season and coming off an 18-7 semifinal win over Berry. Anna Erskine went off for seven goals while Olivia Wood and Ford Hoon combined for eight saves.
Sewanee won the regular season match-up 16-12 on their home field in late March. Price had seven goals in that game while Sally Herrington added three. The Lynx spread out the scoring with Alban Erdle and Caroline Kardian each netting three. `
Rhodes has won the last nine SAA Championships while Sewanee won the league’s other two in 2013 and 2014. The two teams have met in the title game two other times with Rhodes winning 13-10 in 2015 and scoring a 25-12 victory in 2022.
