CANTON, Ga. - The Sewanee Tigers have been tabbed as the 2026 favorite for the Southern Athletic Association Women’s Lacrosse Crown.
Sewanee had the most first place votes at five to total 30 points. Berry and Rhodes were deemed second place contenders with 26 points a piece while the Lynx captured one first place vote.
Voting was conducted among the SAA’s six head coaches.

Receiving votes in the preseason IWLCA Preseason Poll, the Sewanee Tigers look to repeat as SAA Champions this season. The team returns Marlin Price, a second team All-Region honoree and SAA Offensive Athlete of the Year while holding the 2025 SAA Coaching Staff of the Year.
Under head coach, Brittni Hall, the Vikings are led by All-Region athlete, Dani Taraska, along with four other SAA All-conference players. Last season Berry fell to Rhodes in the semifinals after defeating Hendrix.
After advancing to their tenth consecutive title game in 2025, Rhodes has their sites set on claiming back the SAA trophy that they held for nine seasons. The Lynx return four All-Conference players to their roster for the 2026 slate.
The 2026 SAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship is slated for April 30 - May 2 in Memphis, Tennessee, hosted by Rhodes College.
