Athletes of the Week: 
Offense: 
Marlin Price | Sewanee | SR | Carrollton, VA - Marlin Price recorded a career-high eight goals on 11 shots (73%), leading the Tigers to a convincing 20-11 victory over John Carroll. The senior collected the game-winning goal while adding four ground balls, three draw controls, and two caused turnovers. Price was also a key contributor on Sewanee’s ride, helping hold John Carroll to 10-of-16 on clears. 

Defense: 
Emma Steffensen | Sewanee | FR | Park City, UT - Emma Steffensen posted a career-high 15 saves and a 57.7% save percentage, anchoring the Sewanee defense in a commanding 20-11 victory in a game that was statistically even in most categories. John Carroll and Sewanee each tallied 26 shots on goal, while JCU slightly outshot the Tigers, 29-28. Steffensen’s performance in goal proved critical for Sewanee, allowing the Tigers to secure a nine-goal victory despite a significant possession disadvantage due to an 11-19 deficit in draw controls. In addition to her work in the cage, the freshman initiated Sewanee’s clears, helping the Tigers finish 22-of-25 on clearing attempts. She recorded no turnovers and added one ground ball.

Offense
  • Audrey Haines | Centre | SO | Lexington, KY - Audrey Haines had an outstanding performance over the two game span, finishing with 5 goals and 1 assist for a total of 6 points. Her scoring ability was on full display as she consistently found the back of the net, and she also contributed by setting up a teammate for another goal.
  • Ellis Mitchum | Oglethorpe | SO | Signal Mountain, TN - Oglethorpe sophomore Ellis Mitchum led the charge offensively with six goals and an assist in the Stormy Petrels' only game of the week, a 22-1 home win over Brevard. She was highly efficient, taking only 11 shots and eight of them put on goal. Mitchum added five ground balls and seven draw controls while committing no turnovers.
  • Sadie McRae | Rhodes | FR | Irvington, NY - Freshman Sadie McRae led the Rhodes offense with an impressive two-game stretch, totaling 10 points while playing a key role as both a scorer and facilitator. In Rhodes’ 13–12 win over John Carroll (March 4), McRae recorded a game-high 6 points on 1 goal and 5 assists. She placed both of her shots on goal and consistently created scoring opportunities for the Lynx offense with her vision and passing. She followed that performance on March 7 at Randolph-Macon with another strong outing, tallying 4 points on 1 goal and 3 assists. She put all three of her shots on goal and added two draw controls while continuing to help drive the Rhodes attack. Across the two games, McRae finished with 10 points on 2 goals and 8 assists while placing all five of her shots on goal. Her playmaking ability and offensive leadership were key components of the Lynx attack throughout the week.

  • Peyton Shindler | Southwestern | FR | Austin, TX - Shindler had a breakout weekend as just as freshman in two home games against Wentworth and Concordia. Shindler had an assist, four grounds, and three caused turnovers against Wentworth. The biggest performance of the weekend was her four goal night against Concordia. The sophomore collected a monstrous nine ground balls as well against Concordia out working her opponents.  
Defense
  • Sophia Richardson | Centre | JR | Lexington, KY - Sophia Richardson made a strong defensive impact over a two game span with 2 caused turnovers, helping disrupt the opposing team’s offense and create opportunities for her team to regain possession.
  • Savannah Freeman | Oglethorpe | SR | Grayson, GA - Oglethorpe senior Savannah Freeman had a strong defensive effort in the only game of the week, helping the Stormy Petrels limit Brevard to just six shots in a 22-1 win. She won eight draw controls, which was one shy of her career high, and picked up three ground balls.
  • Maddie BeVier | Rhodes | JR | Burlington, CT - Maddie BeVier made a major defensive impact for the Lynx last week from the midfield, leading all players from both teams in ground balls in each contest. In Rhodes’ 13–12 win over John Carroll (March 4), BeVier was a force in the midfield, recording 4 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers while consistently disrupting possessions and helping Rhodes win key loose-ball battles. She followed that performance on March 7 at Randolph-Macon with another strong effort, tallying 4 ground balls and a caused turnover, again leading all players from both teams in ground balls. BeVier also contributed in transition with 3 goals on 3 shots, highlighting her ability to turn defensive stops into offensive opportunities. Across the two games, BeVier finished with 8 ground balls and 4 caused turnovers, serving as Rhodes’ top individual ground-ball producer in both contests. Her ability to control possessions and create turnovers from the midfield was critical for the Lynx throughout the week.
  • Hannah Colvin | Southwestern | SO | Las Vegas, NV - Colvin continues to improve game by game with another massive weekend against Wentworth and Concordia Wisconsin. Colvin reset her own career-best with 13 saves against Wentworth with a .591 save percentage and five ground balls. Colvin followed up that performance with another career-high of 14 saves with a .636 save percentage on two ground balls against Concordia. The sophomore has become a pivotal defensive weapon with 27 saves on the weekend.
