Athletes of the Week: 
Offense: 
Gracie Garner | Centre | SR - Gracie Garner delivered an incredibly efficient and dominant performance, scoring 10 goals on just 14 shots. Finishing at such a high rate highlights her accuracy, confidence, and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Beyond her offensive production, she contributed 3 ground balls, showing effort in securing possession and staying active across the field, while also adding 1 caused turnover to make an impact defensively. 

Defense: 
Leah Jackson | Centre | SR - Leah Jackson delivered a dominant defensive performance against Berry, recording 4 caused turnovers and 3 ground balls while anchoring the unit with consistent intensity and control. Her ability to disrupt possessions and win the ball back played a key role in shutting down the opposing offense, as she set the tone with physicality and smart positioning throughout the game. Jackson’s presence on defense was instrumental, repeatedly forcing mistakes and helping her team regain momentum. Across both games, she totaled 5 caused turnovers and added 2 draw controls, further showcasing her versatility and impact in multiple phases of the game.


Notable Performances:
Offense
  • Marlin Price | Sewanee | SR | Carrollton, VA - Marlin Price was the driving force behind Sewanee’s sixth straight win and fourth conference win. The senior had a hand in 12 of the Tigers' 20 points, in Sewanee’s 20-6 win against Oglethorpe on Saturday. She ended the game with a career-high 12 points, off of two goals and 10 assists, also a Sewanee single-game record. The Carrollton, Va. native also contributed on the Tigers transition, helping Sewanee to a 17-for-20 clear, as well as on the ride, chipping in two caused turnovers and a ground ball. 
Defense
  • Madelyn Gardner | Oglethorpe | FR | Cumming, GA - Oglethorpe freshman Madelyn Gardner continued her great recent run of form with another stellar effort tending the net. She picked up nine saves in the only game of the week while also contributing with two ground balls. 
  • Ella Townsend | Sewanee | JR - Ella Townsend is the driving force behind the Sewanee defense, keeping Oglethorpe to a season-low eight shots on the day. Townsend had four ground balls and five caused turnovers, surpassing Sewanee’s single-season caused turnover record in Saturday’s 20-6 win, with 46 on the season, surpassing her freshman and sophomore records combined. The junior is a vital part of Sewanee’s clears, finishing 17-of-20, and an anchor in the midfield and backfield on the Tigers’ ride, which held Oglethorpe to 5-of-13 on clears.
