MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Xavier Byams of the Berry College Baseball program has been named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week in the designated hitter spot.
A freshman from Lilburn, GA Byams helped lead the Vikings to a three game sweep of the Emory University Eagles to kick off their season on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles entered the season receiving votes in the D3Baseball Top 25 Poll. Byams reached base nine times to start the season. He was 5-for-7 (.714) and walked four times for a .818 on-base percentage. Two of his hits went for doubles as he slugged 1.000. He had five RBIs and three runs scored.
