SAA Women's Tennis Report - March 17, 2026

CANTON, Ga.  – Trinity sweeps week six athlete of the week honors for Women's Tennis for the third week in a row.

Athletes of the Week: 
Singles: 
Rosabella Andrade | Trinity | JR | Southlake, TX – Andrade went 3-0 at #2 singles and led the 12th-ranked Trinity women's tennis team to a 3-0 record as well, defeating #35 Haverford 7-0, #21 Swarthmore 5-2, and #40 Skidmore 6-1 in a busy week of action for the Tigers. Andrade opened the week with a straight-set 6-2, 6-0 win against Haverford that clinched the Tiger win and vaulted the team to a shutout. She then won 7-5, 6-1 against Swarthmore and 6-4, 6-2 against Skidmore to put the Tigers up 5-1 and 5-0, respectively.

Doubles: 
Katie Schmidt | SO  / Lauren Tin | SO (Trinity) - Schmidt and Tin went 3-0 as a doubles team and also led #12 Trinity to a 3-0 record this week as well, defeating three teams ranked in the ITA top 40 nationally. The Tigers won 7-0 against #35 Haverford to start the week, followed by a 5-2 victory against #21 Swarthmore, and a 6-1 decision against #40 Skidmore. The #2 doubles duo for Trinity clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win against Haverford, then opened doubles with a 6-2 win over Swarthmore. Schmidt and Tin finished with another 6-2 win against Skidmore to clinch the doubles point once again. 
 


Notable Performances
Singles:

  • Mariella Congeni | Sewanee | JR | New Orleans, LA – Mariella Congeni was 3-0 this week for the Tigers against two nationally ranked opponents at line one. On Monday against No. 26-ranked Vassar, Congeni clinched the match for the Tigers with a three-set win. The junior dropped the first set, 7-5, but won the next two, 6-3, 6-2, securing the win for Sewanee. Against Chapman, she dropped just one game, for a 6-1, 6-0 victory. On Thursday, she collected a 6-2, 6-3 win against Cal Tech. 
  • Kimberly Duncan | Southwestern | SR | Greenville, SC – Senior Kimberly Duncan went 3–0 at No. 3 singles last week, leading the Pirates with a dominant stretch of play. Duncan opened the week with a strong 6–2, 6–1 victory over No. 36 Haverford College, before earning a 6–4, 6–4 win over Washington College. She closed the week in commanding fashion with a 6–0, 6–0 sweep of the University of the Ozarks, finishing the week undefeated while surrendering just 11 total games across three matches.
Doubles:
  • Harper High | SO  / Lexi Barbee | SR (Sewanee) - Harper High and Lexi Barbee were 3-0 against two top-ranked opponents this weekend, dropping just six games in three matches. Against No.26 Vassar, they picked up a 6-2 win, helping the Tigers secure the doubles point, 2-1. Against Chapman, they rolled to a 6-1 win, securing the doubles sweep. They added a 6-3 win against No.31 Cal Tech’s Waugh/Kessman on Thursday. 
  • Daryl Locke  / Isa Cepeda (Southwestern) - Seniors Daryl Locke and Isa Cepeda continued their dominant run at the top of the lineup, posting a perfect 3–0 record at No. 1 doubles for the Pirates last week. The duo opened the week with an impressive 6–4 victory over No. 36 Haverford College, showcasing their ability to compete against nationally ranked opposition. They followed that performance with a 6–2 win over Washington College before closing the week in commanding fashion with a 6–0 sweep of the University of the Ozarks. The pair has now won six consecutive matches at the top doubles spot, consistently giving Southwestern a strong start in doubles play.
