Athletes of the Week: 
Singles: 
Rosabella Andrade | Trinity | SR | Southlake, TX – Andrade led the ninth-ranked Trinity women's tennis team to a pair of Southern Athletic Association sweeps over the weekend, defeating both Rhodes and Millsaps to improve to 15-1 and extend the team's winning streak to 13 straight matches. Andrade played at #1 singles in both contests, clinching the match against Rhodes with a 6-0, 6-1 win, and then finishing off the sweep of Millsaps with another 6-0, 6-1 victory.

Doubles: 
Rosabella Andrade | JR / Trinity Levy | SR (Trinity) - Andrade and Levy led the ninth-ranked Trinity women's tennis team to 7-0 Southern Athletic Association sweeps of both Rhodes and Millsaps over the weekend, improving to 15-1 this season and extending the team's winning streak to 13 straight matches. The Tiger doubles duo played at line one in both matches, starting off the Rhodes match with a 6-1 victory, and then clinching the doubles point with a 6-2 win against Millsaps on Sunday.

Singles:

  • Carrie Foster | Centre | SO | Columbiana, AL – In #3 singles against Oglethorpe on Saturday, Carrie Foster dominated with a 6-1, 6-0 win. She followed that with a 6-2, 6-1 win in #4 singles on Sunday as Centre swept both matches and clinched a spot in the SAA Tournament.
  • Mariella Congeni | Sewanee | JR | New Orleans, LA – Mariella Congeni was undefeated this weekend at one singles for Sewanee, helping them to a crucial 4-3 win against No.38 Christopher Newport on Friday and two conference wins. Against CNU, the junior defeated the No. 9-ranked player in the Atlantic South, Kylie Schaefer, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (6). Congeni was down 3-5, 15-40 in the third set and came back, saving seven match points and helping her team to a 4-3 victory. The next day, Congeni defeated Sara Mejia of Berry, 6-2, 6-1. Congeni is currently ranked No. 4 in the Atlantic South region. 
  • Kimberly Duncan | Southwestern | SR | Greenville, SC – Senior Kimberly Duncan delivered a flawless weekend at No. 3 singles, finishing 2–0 and helping lead the Pirates to a pair of conference victories. Duncan opened with a strong straight-sets win over Millsaps, 6–2, 6–2, controlling play from start to finish. She followed with a clutch, match-clinching performance against Rhodes, rallying for a 3–6, 6–4, 6–4 victory. After dropping the first set, Duncan responded with steady, composed play to take the final two sets and secure the win for Southwestern, sealing a 2–0 team weekend in conference action.
Doubles:
  • Grace Williams / Carlie Mitchell (Centre) - On Saturday at Oglethorpe, Grace Williams and Carlie Mitchell played in their normal #2 spot in doubles and cruised to a 6-0 win as Centre went on to sweep the day. They nearly replicated the result on Sunday at Berry as they played in second doubles again and won 6-1 as Centre also swept Berry to clinch a spot in the SAA Tournament.
  • Ivy Wilson  / Mariella Congeni (Sewanee) - Ivy Wilson and Mariella Congeni were 3-0 this weekend at line one doubles, helping Sewanee win all three doubles points. Against the No. 4 ranked team in the Atlantic South, Schaefer/Chang, of No. 38-ranked Christopher Newport, Wilson and Congeni fought back from down 1-4, to secure a 7-6 win at one doubles. In the final two matches of the weekend against SAA opponents, the duo did not drop a game, defeated Mejia and Evans of Berry, 6-0 and completed the trifecta with a 6-0 win against SAA opponent Oglethorpe. Wilson and Congeni are currently ranked 7th in the Atlantic South. 
  • Isa Cepeda / Daryl Locke (Southwestern) - Isa Cepeda and Daryl Locke went undefeated this weekend, posting a perfect 2–0 record at No. 1 doubles to help lead Southwestern in conference play. The duo opened with a dominant 6–0 win over Millsaps, setting the tone early and controlling play from start to finish. They followed with a high-pressure, deciding-match performance against Rhodes, where they secured the doubles point with an 8–6 tiebreak victory after a tightly contested 6–7 set. Cepeda and Locke’s ability to execute in crucial moments proved instrumental in securing the doubles point and giving the Pirates early momentum in both matches.
