Atlanta, Ga. – The first weekend of the SAA women’s basketball slate saw both Centre and Millsaps run their winning streaks to seven games while Berry joined them atop the conference standings at 1-0.
The Colonels are undefeated on the season, beating teams by an average of 30 points a night. The Majors lost their opener by one, but have been equally as impressive, winning by an average of more than 15 points a game during the streak.

Athlete of the Week:
Elyse Warren | Millsaps | Sophomore | Memphis, Tenn. – averaged a double-double and led the Majors to a 2-0 week, including an SAA opening win over Birmingham-Southern. She tallied 18 points and added nine rebounds and a block against BSC. The sophomore started with week with a season-high 19 points and 11 rebounds in leading Millsaps past Centenary. Warren averaged 18.5 points and 11 rebounds for the week while shooting 62 percent from the field.
Notable Performances:
- Elly Callihan (Berry) – averaged 20 points, 5.5 rebounds, and three steals over two games for the Vikings. She tallied 21 points and five rebounds in a close loss to Brevard before tallying 19 points and six rebounds in a SAA win over Oglethorpe.
- Avery Marsh (Rhodes) – averaged 18 points and seven rebounds in two games for the Lynx. Netted 20 in a win over Huntington on 6-of-10 shooting. She recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds against Emory.
- Makya Grinter (Centre) - tallied 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting to lead Centre past Spalding at the beginning of the week. She added eight points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals in the SAA opening win over Sewanee.
