SAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Report – Oct. 14, 2024

CANTON, Ga.  – Three teams in action highlighted the SAA women’s swimming & diving slate last weekend. Hendrix got by Austin 137-106 and Millsaps fell to Division II Montevallo. Centre split a pair of duals, beating Midway and dropping a decision to Washington & Lee.

Athletes of the Week:
SWIMMER: Callie West | Centre | Senior | Lexington, Ky. - has showed no signs of slowing down after a stellar junior season. The senior won all three of her events against W&L. She touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (24.60), 100 freestyle (53.99) and the 100 butterfly (58.84). West has won six individual races and been part of one winning relay so far this season.
 
DIVER: Erin Dannemiller | Centre | Sophomore | Cincinnati, Ohio - swept the diving events at Centre's home meet on Sunday afternoon. The sophomore won the one-meter event with a score of 187.47 and the three-meter with a score of 180.45.
 
Notable Performance:
  • Kat Burns (Millsaps) - swam well against NCAA Division II Montevallo at GRIT Training in Flowood, Miss. on Saturday. She claimed victory in the 50-yard freestyle (26.34 seconds) and also placed second in both the 50-yard breaststroke (33.17 seconds) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.69).
