SAA Men's Golf Report - Oct. 15, 2025

CANTON, Ga.  – The Southern Athletic Associaiton named Ethan Bridges the week five Golf Athelte of the Week.

Athlete of the Week:
Ethan Bridges | Southwestern | SR | Montgomery, TX – Senior Ethan Bridges finished 2nd out of 120 players at the Golfweek October Classic, posting rounds of 68-68-71 for a 207 total (-6). He led the field in par-3 scoring at -5 (2.67 avg), played the par 4s at even, and the par 5s at -1 (4.97 avg). Bridges recorded 34 pars, 13 birdies, and just seven bogeys over three rounds, leading the Pirates to a fourth-place team finish. 


Notable Performances:
  • Jay Sanders | Berry | SR | Thomasville, GA – Sanders led the Vikings at the Tartan Invite finishing tied for 7th out of 87 golfers while shooting five over for a 221 over three rounds. Sanders also had eight birdies.
  • Christian Iwai | Rhodes | FR | Aurora, Ontario – Finishing fourth overall, Freshman Christian Iwai delivered an outstanding performance at the Sandestin Resort – Raven Course, posting back-to-back under-par rounds to lead the Lynx. In Round 1, he fired an even-par 71 (E), highlighted by steady play on the front nine and clutch birdies on the back to finish strong. He elevated his performance even further in Round 2, carding a tournament-best 67 (-4). His second round featured five birdies, including an impressive stretch of three straight on holes 15–17, and he played the final 11 holes at 4-under par. With a two-day total of 138 (-4), Iwai showcased elite consistency, composure, and scoring ability. 
  • Sam Rossi | Trinity | SO | Los Angeles, CA – Rossi led Trinity University to a tie for fourth as a team at the Golfweek October Classic this week, finishing seventh individually at three-under over the three-day event at the Sandestin Resort and Club. He finished with a score of 210 with 15 birdies and an eagle.
