CANTON, Ga.  – Trinity sweeps week eight athlete of the week honors for women's swim and dive.

Athletes of the Week:  
Swimming:  Kaya Alvegaard-Struble | Trinity | FR | Kansas City, MO– First-year Kaya Alvegaard-Struble had an incredible showing at the 2025 D3 Shootout Meet this weekend. She posted the third-fastest time in the meet in the 200 freestyle, recording an NCAA B cut time of 1:51.62. That time was the fourth-fastest in Trinity history and a lifetime-best by almost 3 seconds, and it would have also been good enough to win the SAA title last year by 1.5 seconds. She followed that up with an 800 free relay split of 1:52.07. Kaya also had the third-fastest 200 backstroke in the meet, touching in 2:03.98 to break her lifetime-best time by nearly 3 seconds and securing fourth place in Trinity history. Kaya split 58.39 on the third place mixed 4x100 IM relay and 52.21 on the 400 free relay, then she ended the meet with a 23.95 split on the 200 free relay. 

Diving:  
Juliet Hood | Trinity | FR | Wexford, PA –First-year Juliet Hood finished fourth on both boards at the 2025 Division III Shootout meet. Juliet scored 242.40 points in the three-meter event, while totaling 242.90 points on the one-meter board.


Notable Performances: 
Swimming

  • Ella Deitch | Sewanee | SO | Arnold, MD – Ella Deitch posted five first-place finishes this weekend, including three on Friday night against UT Southern. She swam a 2:04.44 in the 200 free, added a 2:33.02 in the 200 breast, and swam the 200 fly in 2:22.46. On Saturday, she posted a top-six SAA time in the 400 IM, swimming a 4:57.71 for another first-place finish. She added a first-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:33.67. She also posted a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay, spitting a 33.67 in the 50 breast. 

Diving

  • Zoe Napier | Sewanee | SR | Indianapolis, IN – Zoe Napier earned a first-place finish on the 3-meter diving board on Friday night, scoring 148.88, and added a second-place finish on the 1-meter with 132.38 points. On Saturday, she collected two second-place finishes, with a 129.53 on the 1m and 126.08 on the 3m.
