Athletes of the Week
Offense:
Thomas McGowan | Sewanee | SO | Houston, TX – Thomas McGowan tallied two game-winning goals for the Tigers in two games on the week. The sophomore took five shots, three on goal. McGowan leads the conference in goals with eight on the year.
Defense:
Cade Dougan | Trinity | GR | Austin, TX – Dougan led Trinity's men's soccer team to a 1-0-1 record in two SAA road games over the last week, winning 4-0 over Centre on Sunday after earning a scoreless draw against #13 Southwestern earlier in the week. Dougan and the Tiger defense did not allow a goal over 180 minutes last week, holding the two teams to 12 combined shots and just three shots on goal across two games. Dougan also scored two second-half goals against Centre to help put the game out of reach both offensively and defensively.

Offense
- Ryan Buie | Maryville | FR | Brentwood, TN – Ryan Buie helped Maryville earn a tie against the Scots of Covenant. Off a pass from a fellow Scot, Buie scored the second goal of the game to put Maryville up 2-0 heading into the half.
Defense
- Henri Kettner | Rhodes | JR | Las Vegas, NV – Henri Kettner anchored the Rhodes defense during an unbeaten week in conference play, conceding just one goal across 180 minutes against Berry and Oglethorpe. Kettner recorded a 90-minute shutout against Berry and assisted on the game-winning goal, contributing on both ends of the field as the Lynx remained unbeaten in conference action.
- Cooper Pero | Southwestern | SR | Tulsa, OK – Pero carried the Pirates to another two shutouts, marking a school record with eight straight clean sheets. The Pirates tied Trinity on Tuesday 0-0 and beat Centre College on Friday night 1-0 on the road. Pero also scored the game-winning goal on Friday in crunch time 18 minutes left, avoiding the draw. Pero scored on an incredible header from 15 yards out. The senior continues to score his goals as a defender in the most crucial spots, leading the team. The defense only forced the Pirates keeper into making seven saves in two games.
