Athletes of the Week
Offense:
Grayson White | Sewanee | JR | Columbia, S.C. – Grayson White tallied a goal and three assists in two games this weekend for the Tigers. Against Southern Virginia, White had a hand in all three of Sewanee’s goals. He scored the game-winner before assisting on both of Sewanee’s additional goals. Against RV Hampden-Sydney, white tallied an assist on the Tigers’ lone goal, playing just 71 minutes on the weekend.
Defense:
Edward Steinwand | Millsaps | SO | Fellsmere, FL – Millsaps men's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Edward Steinwand was stellar in his first two starts of the season on the road, tallying back-to-back shutouts. Steinwand tallied nine saves combined over the weekend, becoming the first Major since 2017 to post back-to-back clean sheets. The Majors tied Pensacola Christian College, 0-0 behind six saves on Friday before adding three additional saves at the United States Sports University on Sunday.

Offense
- Tyler Smith | Centre | JR | Cold Spring, KY – Tyler Smith scored 3 goals in Centre's opening week of action. Against Berea, he scored a PK in the 8th minute that propelled Centre to a 4-0 win. On Sunday, he scored twice in the final 3:56 as Centre escaped with a 2-2 draw against Rose-Hulman to win the JR Hoe Invitational.
- Grey Richards | Southwestern | SO | San Antonio, TX – Richards took over the match against #14 ranked University of Lynchburg on Sunday in the 3-1 win. Richards had two goals in the victory beating the Hornets to every ball. The Pirates went 2-1 on the week.
Defense
- Nate Selig Pineda | Maryville | SO | Dothan, AL – Nate Selig Pineda started both matches and played all 90 minutes against Marietta and Wilmington, providing a steady presence in the Maryville back line. With Selig Pineda anchoring the defense, the Scots held Marietta scoreless while allowing just three shots, and then kept Wilmington off the scoreboard despite facing 20 shots.
- Edward Kennedy | Sewanee | SO | Johns Creek, GA – Edward Kennedy anchored Sewanee’s backline in three games this week, helping the Tigers earn a 1-1 draw against RV Hampden-Sydney and a 3-0 shutout of Southern Virginia while facing No. 4 Emory in a 3-2 setback. Kennedy played all 90 minutes against both No. 4 Emory and RV Hampden-Sydney and 67 minutes against Southern Virginia. He helped lead a defensive effort that limited Southern Virginia to just two shots, none on goal, while holding Hampden-Sydney to three shots on goal and No. 4 Emory to seven.
