SAA 2023 Women’s Basketball Report – Dec. 11

Atlanta, Ga. – Millsaps ran its winning streak to eight games with a win over Mississippi University for Women to highlight a quiet, five-game week on the SAA women’s basketball slate. Conference teams went 3-2 in non-conference match-ups last week.

Athletes of the Week:
Haley Franklin | Millsaps | Junior | Baton Rouge, La.  – helped the Majors defeat MUW, 61-48 on the road on Tuesday, Millsaps’ eighth-straight victory. The junior finished with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting to go along with six rebounds (five defensive), two assists and two steals.
 
Notable Performances:
  • Ellie Gearing (Berry) – tallied 15 points and eight rebounds with two steals in the Vikings 57-49 win over Covenant.
  • Kayla Antoine (Sewanee) – shot 70 percent from the field and led Sewanee with 28 points and nine rebounds against Bob Jones. The senior also had three assists and a steal.
  • Keimarya Rivera (Oglethorpe) – led all scorers with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while hauling in nine rebounds. The Stormy Petrels posted an 84-49 win over Agnes Scott.
