Rhodes visited Division II powerhouse Delta State and lost a close decision to the Fighting Okra, 169-130. Sewanee hosted Berry in a dual meet Friday night with the Vikings winning 109-96.
Around the SAA:
Athletes of the Week:
SWIMMER: Daniel Snyder | Rhodes | Senior | Signal Mountain, Tenn. – delivered a standout performance that led the way for the Lynx at Delta State. He set a new SAA conference record in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:28.25, bettering his own mark set in 2022 by a second. Snyder also won the 500 freestyle with a conference-leading time of 4:38.05.

DIVER: Avery Balch | Centre | Senior | Hartselle, Ala.  - continued his great season on the boards on Friday night. He won the one-meter dive with a score of 317.55 and the three-meter dive with a tally of 365.55. Both marks were NCAA cuts.

Notable Performances:
  • Ethan Whiting (Berry) - helped in the defeat of the Sewanee Tigers this past Saturday in the SAA Dual. Whiting took the new first place time in the 400 IM in the SAA at 4:19.47. His biggest race was the 500 free where he ran down the opponent in second and closed with the fastest final 50 split in that race, that swim reset the men and broke some of Sewanee's momentum and is a huge part in the Berry win. He also swam a 49.03 in the 100 free split time inside the 400 free relay.
  • Tiernan Moore (Centre) - Part of a 400 medley relay win that finished in 3:34.82 versus Franklin and Hanover. The first year barely missed first in the 200 IM as his time of 2:02.97 was just .06 away from a win.
  • Andrew Olsen (Sewanee) - had a standout meet, securing three event victories and posting some of the conference’s best times. In the 200 Free, Olsen clocked in at 1:44.75, the second-fastest time in the conference and a top-10 all-time mark for the program. He also won the 100 Free with a time of 48.11. To cap off his performance, Olsen swam a 46.77 split in the 400 Free Relay, which ranks as the third-fastest relay split in the conference.
