SAA Women’s Tennis Report – March 25, 2025

CANTON, Ga.  – With conference play ready to heat up the last weekend of March, Rhodes leads the way at 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference. Sewanee checked in at No. 19 in the latest ITA National Ranking.

Athletes of the Week:
SINGLES
Mackenzie Vordick | Millsaps | Senior | Houma, La. - triumphed in two matches on Court 2 singles over the weekend, propelling the Majors to two team victories. She bested a Belhaven foe (8-0) on Saturday and Southwest Mississippi Community College opponent (6-1, 6-2) on Sunday.
 
DOUBLES:
Mary Dabadie | Millsaps | Senior | Baton Rouge, La.
Mackenzie Vordick | Millsaps | Senior | Houma, La.
Earned pair of wins on Court 1 doubles over the weekend, powering the Majors to two team victories. The pair bettered foes from Belhaven (6-0) on Saturday and Southwest Mississippi Community College (6-1) on Sunday.
 
Notable Performances:
  • Ansley Carpenter (Sewanee) -  against Covenant College, Ansley Carpenter defeated Lauren Carr 6-1,6-2 at the #1 singles position. 
  • Grace Williams/Carlie Mitchell (Centre) - an undefeated 6-0 together this season, won the no. 2 match 6-2 over Tiara Yeung and Sofia Mazzola of Pacific (Ore.).  
  • Mariella Congeni/Sarah Livingston (Sewanee) - Playing the #2 doubles position against Covenant College, Sarah Livingston and Mariella Congeni defeated Kate Cummings and Christina English 6-0. They are currently 5-2 for the year.
