Athletes of the Week:
Offense:
Stokes McConnell | Sewanee | JR| Sullivan’s Island, SC – McConnell scored a goal in each match and handed out one assist in Sewanee's two road wins, the team's first road contests of the season. He scored just after halftime in Saturday's triumph at William Peace, giving the Tigers a 3-0 advantage, picking off a poor goal kick before beating his defender for the goal in the 51st minute. In Sunday's victory at Guilford, McConnell gave Sewanee a 2-0 edge in the 11th minute, tracking down a ball that bounced off a defender near the end line. He dribbled back into the field of play before beating the keeper low and left. He also assisted on the first goal of the match, feeding Noah Bjorkman in the fifth minute. McConnell has four goals and two assists in nine outings this year.
 
Defense:
Nathan Vanhoeve | Sewanee | SR | Richmond, KY – Vanhoeve helped the Tigers post two clean sheets in road wins at William Peace and Guilford over the weekend. He made one save and faced four total shots in the victory Saturday at William Peace. He was much busier at Guilford, collecting five saves against 15 total shots by the Quakers. The Tigers have allowed six total goals in nine matches with six shutouts.

Offense
  •  Alex Guzman | Berry | GR | Cumming, GA – McConnell A forward from Cumming, Ga. Guzman led the Vikings with two goals as they took down Covenant and LaGrange this week. In the first game of the week against Covenant Gonzalez scored the all-important tying goal to make it 1-1 and then scored the go ahead goal a few minutes later which would also prove to be the winner as the Vikings won 4-1. Then in the second game he had two shots including one on goal that led to the second goal of the game as the Vikings won 4-0 over LaGrange.
  • Quinn MacLeod | Southwestern | SO | Bedford, TX – MacLeod played a massive factor in the pair of wins for the Pirates. The sophomore found the net on Thursday to give the Pirates the advantage and eventual 4-1 road victory. MacLeod also assisted on a goal, contributing three points on the night. He turned around and scored again on Saturday against Austin College in a 7-1 victory. 
  • Adam Knutson | Trinity | SR | Dripping Springs, TX – Knutson led the fourth-ranked Trinity men's soccer team to a 1-1 record away from home last weekend, defeating Hardin-Simmons University 2-0 before falling 3-2 to #20 Christopher Newport University. After a scoreless first half against HSU, Knutson scored the eventual game-winner in the 55th minute to lift Trinity to victory. He also assisted on Trinity's second goal against CNU to give them a shot at a draw in the final minutes. Knutson has scored five goals and three assists in seven games for the Tigers, including four game-winning goals in Trinity's six victories.
 
Defense
  • Cherry Cooper | Berry | JR | Canton, GA – A junior goalkeeper from Canton, GA Cherry helped lead the Vikings defense in two victories last week. In the first game against Covenant, he played 82 minutes allowing just one goal while recording one save in a 4-1 win. Then in the second game of the week he played the first half recording two saves in a 4-0 win as he recorded his fourth shutout of the season. Cherry leads the SAA in shutouts per game and is third with a .673 goals against average and a .773 save pct. 
  • Angelo Nkosi | Oglethorpe | FR | Pretoria, South Africa – Oglethorpe's Angelo Nkosi put forward a tremendous effort this week in helping the Stormy Petrels earn a clean sheet in the midweek game. They then fell to Covenant on the road over the weekend after two late goals in a sold-out alumni weekend crowd, with one of the goals, the eventual winner, coming as a result of a penalty kick.
  • Sharma Raghav | Southwestern | SR | Austin, TX – Sharma anchored the Pirates defense to two big wins this week against LeTourneau University and Austin College in 4-1 & 7-1 scores. The senior also got involved offensively with two goals and an assist in Saturday's match against Austin. He finished a header on set piece along with a penalty kick goal for his second and third goals of the season. Sharma also assisted on another goal for the Pirates, which all three occurred in the span of four minutes.
