Athletes of the Week: 
Pitcher: 
JJ Sweat | Berry | FR | Dallas, GA – A freshman from Dallas, GA Sweat picked up two more wins for the Vikings including one against a top 25 team. In game one against LaGrange she picked up the win throwing four shutout innings while allowing just two hits and striking out six in an 8-0 5 inning win. Then in game two she led the Vikings to an upset of No. 15 Emory as she threw a complete game 7 innings allowing just one earned run while striking out four as she improved to 4-0 on the season in four starts. Overall she went 2-0 with a .64 ERA and 10 strikeouts.

Ella Morgan Sears | Millsaps | JR | Tuscaloosa, AL – Millsaps softball center fielder Ella Morgan Sears put up impressive numbers helping the Majors better No. 14 Belhaven on Wednesday, and sweep MUW in a 3-game series over the weekend. Sears posted a .600 on-base percentage, and posted a .571 batting average (8-for-14). She tallied two hits in each of the four games, adding an RBI, two runs scored, two steals and was hit by a pitch.

  • Kennedy Caudill | Centre | SO | New Albany, IN – Kennedy Caudill was brilliant in 2 relief appearances over the weekend. In Centre's 12-9 win over Olivet on Saturday, Caudill came on in the 3rd, allowed a hit to the first batter she faced and never allowed another. She pitched the final 4.2 innings, allowing a single run with 7 strikeouts. In Sunday's loss to Asbury, she was called in with the bases loaded and 1 out. Caudill recorded 2 strikeouts to end the inning to leave the bases full. She struck out 2 more in her final inning of work and ended the day having struck out 4 of 5 batters faced. In total, Caudill pitched 6.1 innings, allowed 1 hit and 1 run while recording 11 strikeouts.
  • Hailey Marange | Millsaps | SO | Madisonville, LA – Millsaps softball sophomore right-handed pitcher Hailey Marange posted two wins, helping the Majors beat No. 14 Belhaven and MUW last week. On Wednesday, she held the Blazers to one run in 7.0 innings pitched and added two strikeouts. Marange then pitched the final 1.1 innings in relief in game three, earn the win and secure the sweep of MUW on Sunday. She totaled 8.1 innings, only three runs, four walks, two strikeouts and nine hits against.
  • Gina Dudley | Rhodes | SR | Palatine, IL – Gina Dudley was dominant in the circle, throwing two complete games over the weekend. She went the distance to earn a win over UMHB and followed it up with another complete-game effort in a tightly contested matchup against Huntingdon. In 14 total innings, Dudley allowed just 10 hits while striking out 12 and finishing the weekend with a 2.00 ERA against two strong offensive teams.
  • Reagen Huskey | Sewanee | JR | Huntsville, AL – Reagen Huskey went 1-1 this weekend, picking up a win against LaGrange, where the junior pitched a complete game. She gave up just four hits and one run with two strikeouts and induced 12 groundouts and seven flyouts in the win. On the weekend, she pitched 14 innings and struck out five, with 14 hits, five walks, and five earned runs against 61 batters. 
  • Josephine Koelewyn | Trinity | JR | Reno, NV – Koelewyn pitched the Tiger softball team to a pair of wins in her two appearances and Trinity finished the weekend with a 3-1 overall record against Hanover College (IN) and Willamette University (OR). She pitched four perfect innings to open the doubleheader against Hanover on Friday night, retiring all 12 batters she faced before coming out with a 9-0 lead. Koelewyn came back in game one against Willamette on Sunday, earning a complete-game victory to move to 6-0 this season. She gave up three runs on six hits and struck out three batters to earn the win.

  • Kennedy Moody | Berry | SO | Port St. Lucie, FL – A sophomore from Port St. Lucia, FL Moody helped lead the Vikings to a 3-1 week including a big upset win over No. 15 Emory. Moody got the offense going with an RBI single in game one against LaGrange as the Vikings won 8-0. Then in game two against LaGrange she went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI in another 8-0 win. Then in the first game against No. 15 Emory she went 1-for-3 with a home run. Lastly she drove in the winning run in the final game of the week in a 3-2 win over Emory. Overall she led the team with 5 RBI including one home run and three runs scored.
  • Brinley Muller | Centre | FR | Metairie, LA – In 4 games this weekend against Olivet and Asbury, Brinley Muller went 6-10 at the plate while also drawing 7 walks and scoring 8 runs. At shortstop, she tallied 9 putouts and 8 assists with no errors.
  • Talia Travis | Rhodes | JR | Madisonville, LA – Talia Travis delivered an outstanding performance at the plate this weekend against high-level competition, batting .455 (5-for-11). She recorded two RBIs while posting a .583 on-base percentage, a .727 slugging percentage, and an impressive 1.310 OPS. Defensively, Travis was just as valuable, anchoring the middle infield at shortstop and providing steady leadership behind the plate throughout the weekend for Rhodes.
  • Sydney Tackett | Sewanee | JR | Fort Wayne, IN – Sydney Tackett was 2-of-6 against LaGrange, with a home run and three RBIs, hitting .333 in the series for Sewanee. The junior was 3-of-10 on the weekend and was hit by a pitch. She is hitting .346 on the season. 
  • Angela Baltzell | Trinity | SR | Antioch, CA – Baltzell led the Tiger softball team to a 3-1 record over the weekend, sweeping a Friday night doubleheader against Hanover College (IN) and splitting with Willamette University (OR) on Sunday afternoon. She batted .667 (6-for-9) for the weekend, scoring five runs and collecting four RBI. She also drew three walks to boost her on-base percentage to .750 over the four games and also recorded three stolen bases. Baltzell had her best game to start the weekend, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBI.
