Athletes of the Week: 
Pitcher: 
Tyler Hower | Oglethorpe | SR | Suwanee, GA - Oglethorpe senior Tyler Hower stepped up in a huge way this weekend for the Stormy Petrels, collecting the win in his first start as a Petrel. He tossed a complete game two-hitter across seven innings to lead the team to a win in the first game of the weekend SAA series, giving up just one run on a groundout in the third inning. It was a 3-1 game through three innings and a 5-1 game through five innings until Oglethorpe pulled away for the run rule in the sixth and seventh. Hower previously was one of the team's top relievers through the first 28 games, leading the team with four saves.

Evan Smallwood | Oglethorpe | JR | Hoover, AL - 
Oglethorpe junior Evan Smallwood posted multihit games in all three games of the week, leading the Stormy Petrels past Berry in the three-game SAA series. He had two three-hit games, one of which featured his fifth home run of the season, and he struck out only once in 15 plate appearances. In Sunday's rubber game, Smallwood posted two hits and three RBI's.

Pitcher

  • John Montour | Millsaps | SO | Madisonville, LA - Millsaps baseball sophomore right-handed pitcher John Montour had a strong pair of outings for the Majors at home against No. 16 Belhaven and No. 20 Rhodes. He pitched a scoreless inning against the Blazers on Tuesday before tallying 5.2 innings of relief against the Lynx on Saturday. He held Rhodes to two runs, four hits, and no walks, while striking out six batters.
  • Ryan Fallmann | Rhodes  - Ryan Fallmann delivered a dominant performance out of the bullpen this week, earning Pitcher of the Week honors after going 2-0 in two relief appearances against Millsaps. The junior from Marietta, Georgia threw 8.1 innings, allowing just two hits and two runs while striking out an impressive 13 batters.
  • Taj Donald | Sewanee | JR | Chester Springs, PA - Donald tossed a gem in the opening game of the series at Trinity, retiring 19 consecutive batters at one point in an 8-3 Sewanee victory (contest was 6-3 from the top of third until the eighth). The righthander allowed three runs, all in the second inning, before setting down the next 19 batters for Trinity. A leadoff single in the ninth ended his day, but he did not walk or hit a batter and struck out five, scattering seven hits. His eight-plus innings of work marked a career-best as well.
  • Max Pougnet | Southwestern | SR | Broomfield, CO - Pougnet had a breakout week to keep the Pirates tournament hopes alive. Pougnet went 3.1 innings of relief without a run allowed, a save, four strikeouts, and zero hits allowed. The senior entered the game up by one run on Saturday and got a Colonel to strikout with two runners on. Pougnet went on to toss a scoreless 8th and 9th to secure the save in the one run game. 
  • Will Hellings | Trinity | SR | Summit, NJ - Hellings led the Trinity University baseball team to a 2-1 record to win the Southern Athletic Association weekend series against Sewanee. Hellings pitched 4.2 shutout innings in relief in game two, earning the win after yielding just one hit and striking out five batters. That win earned a DH split for Trinity, which went on to clinch the series the next day. Hellings is now 4-2 with a 3.69 ERA in 10 games pitched for the Tigers this season. He has held opponents to a .206 batting average and has 50 strikeouts in 46.1 innings of work.

Athlete

  • Zach Fortman | Sewanee | SO | Clinton, SC - Fortman batted .417 (5-for-12) with a double, two homers, seven RBIs and three runs scored in three games at Trinity. His three-run homer capped a six-run second inning in a game one victory for Sewanee. He added an RBI double and a solo homer in the second contest. In the series finale Fortman recorded a two-run single in the second inning, walked twice, stole two bases and scored a run.
  • Tres Organ | Southwestern | SR | Houston, TX - Organ help carry the Pirates past Centre, winning their first SAA series. Organ had five hits on the week with 3 RBI's and one extra base hit. The senior also secured a save in game 2 of the series. 
  • Khalfani Coney | Trinity | SR | Los Angeles, CA - Coney led the Trinity University baseball team to a 2-2 record this week, winning two out of three in this weekend's Southern Athletic Association series against Sewanee. Coney batted .500 (8-for-16) with two doubles, three runs scored, and three RBI to lead the Tigers to the split this week. He went 3-for-5 in a loss to St. Thomas earlier in the week, then batted 5-for-11 (.455) against Sewanee. Coney went 3-for-4 with a double in Trinity's win on Saturday that evened the series at one win each. This season, Coney is batting .330 (30-for-91) with 21 runs scored and 25 RBI.
