Atlanta, Ga. – Berry completed the third SAA perfect season in conference history, all by the Vikings, to win the 2023 outright title and top-seed in the tournament. They dropped just seven sets in SAA play all year long and are now 41-2 against conference teams the last three seasons.
Ranked No. 13 in the nation, Berry and the rest of the league will finish the regular season out of conference before heading to Mount Berry November 10-12 for the SAA Tournament.

OFFENSIVE:
Bella Boston | Berry | Junior | Newnan, Ga. – Led the Vikings to three victories last week, including a sweep of No. 25 Covenant on the road. On the weekend she blasted 44 Kills (4.89 K/S), hit .381, added seven blocks. Her weekend was highlighted by her performances against Covenant, posting 16 kills (5.33 k/s) and hitting .500. Against Millsaps she posted 22 kills (7.33 k/s) and hit .422.
DEFENSIVE:
Kate Whittle | Berry | Senior | Louisville, Ky. – Propelled the Vikings to three victories over the weekend, including a 3-0 victory over 25
th-ranked Covenant. The senior had three match-high dig performances; 9.6 d/s vs. Millsaps, 4.3 d/s vs. Covenant, and 5.7 d/s against BSC). On the weekend, Whittle recorded 59 total digs (6.56 d/s) and added five aces.
Notable Performances:
- Olivia Jones (Sewanee) - Hit .619 and .320 this weekend for a combined 24 kills on 46 swings with three errors. Against Hendrix, Jones had no attack errors in five sets where she also posted one block and seven digs. Against Rhodes, Jones also recorded two service aces, five blocks, and three digs to round out an exceptional weekend of stats.
- Riley Brady (Hendrix) – Hit .323 and led the Warriors to a SAA weekend split with Sewanee and Centre. He tallied 10 kills and hit .400 against Sewanee as part of a 14-kills weekend.
- Yzzi Dsamou (Rhodes) – Led Rhodes in kills in our win over Sewanee with 15, 3 errors and hitting .267. She had a total of 24 kills for the weekend against the SAA ranked 2nd and 3rd place teams.
- Syd Bietz (Centre) - Posted game highs in kills both games last week, finishing with 13 (3.6 per set) at Rhodes on Saturday and 11 (3.7 per set) with a .229 hitting percentage at Hendrix on Sunday, helping the Colonels tie a program record with a 12-2 mark in conference play.
- Ainsley Schultz (Birmingham-Southern) – Posted a hitting percentage of .250 with 39 assists as a setter. She recorded three kills in the match. In the win over OU, she also had four blocks and 13 digs. Against Berry on Saturday, Schultz earned 23 assists with a hitting percentage of .667.
- Anna Capezzera (Millsaps) - Tallied seven aces and 42 kills on the weekend with 3.8 kills a set over three matches. The junior hit .204 against Berry with 16 kills to highlight the weekend.
- Adele Cassidy (Sewanee) – Recorded 48 digs and three aces for the weekend. Against Hendrix, she tallied 25 digs, six assists, and two aces, and against Rhodes, posted 23 digs, two assists, and one ace for the match. She recorded only three total receiving errors in the 10 sets she played this weekend.
- Sam Friedl (Hendrix) – Tallied 35 digs and two aces over two matches. Led the Warriors to a five-set win over Sewanee with 24 digs.
- Maggie Mathis (Rhodes) – Racked up 32 digs and three aces in a split week with Centre and Sewanee. Earned 21 digs against Sewanee.
- Margaret Richardson (Millsaps) – In three matches, totaled 54 digs, averaging nine digs a set.
