Athlete of the Week:
Malachi Dooley | Oglethorpe | SR | Mt. Airy, GA – Oglethorpe senior guard Malachi Dooley eclipsed 1,000 career points after two stellar games this week. In the midweek game against Berry, he put up 23 points and five rebounds to help get the Stormy Petrels a win in their SAA opener. Friday night in nonconference action, Dooley needed 27 points to reach 1,000 and reached that on a deep 3-pointer midway through the second half, electrifying the crowd on a Petrel run that put the win away. His 32 points matched his career high and marked his third 30-point effort in the last four games. Dooley also connected on 8-of-10 3-pointers, becoming only the sixth player in Oglethorpe history to connect on eight threes in a game.
