Athletes of the Week: 
Pitcher: 
Hailey Marange | Millsaps | SO | Madisonville, LA – Millsaps softball sophomore right-handed pitcher Hailey Marange had a stellar week, collecting a pair of wins in three appearances for the Majors. In 14.0 total innings pitched, she tallied a 1.0 ERA, four strikeouts, with only two earned runs, and three walks against. Marange's week was highlighted with a complete seven-inning shutout at Hendrix, allowing just three hits and two walks.

Athlete: 
Sydney Tackett | Sewanee | JR | Fort Wayne, IN – Sydney Tackett had another hot week at the plate, going 7-of-19 with four walks. She added nine RBIs this week with three doubles, a triple, and a home run. She had a .368 batting average with a .478 on-base percentage, and a slugging percentage of .789.

Pitcher

  • JJ Sweat | Berry | FR – JJ was terrific in her showing last week against Huntingdon, pitching a complete game of 21 outs while allowing just 2 earned runs and dishing out 3 strikeouts to a top tier Huntingdon batting lineup to lift Berry to a 9-3 victory.
  • Reagan Huskey | Sewanee | JR | Huntsville, AL – Reagen Huskey was 2-for-1 on the week, achieving her 200th career strikeout in the 13-2 win against Berea College. She pitched 18 innings, giving up 20 hits and 11 earned runs. She had 10 walks with 16 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.75 for the week and a .278 batting average against.

  • Erica Bennett | Berry | SO – In six at-bats in the doubleheader against Huntingdon, Erica knocked through 5 hits along with 3 RBI to pace the Viking batting production last week in the top 25 showdown. Bennett was also terrific in the field with 3 putouts.
  • Bryn Arena | Millsaps | SO | Prairieville, LA – Millsaps softball sophomore right fielder Brynn Arena had a strong showing, leading the Majors to a 4-2 week on the road. The Majors split at LeTourneau as well as Hendrix before sweeping Lyon. She posted a .565 on-base percentage (8-for-18 batting), .722 slugging percentage, with a homer, six runs, an RBI, two doubles, four walks, two steals, and was hit by a pitch.
  • Tauryn Alexander | Southwesetern | SR | Katy, TX –Senior catcher Tauryn Alexander delivered a standout performance in game one of Southwestern’s doubleheader against Hardin-Simmons, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. Alexander recorded a single, double, and home run, driving in four RBIs to power the Pirates’ offense. Her big day at the plate helped lead Southwestern to a 6–3 victory in the opener, providing key run production and momentum for the Pirates.
